The role
As a Student Assistant focused on the Material Properties of Steel Bridges you will work with researchers to assess and digitise bridge material certificates. Typical activities include:
- Reviewing physical and scanned certificates that report material properties (for example yield strength and tensile strength)
- Extracting and validating data from certificates and entering it into digital databases or spreadsheets
- Flagging unclear or inconsistent entries for researcher review
- Helping to improve the digitisation workflow and quality checks under researcher supervision
- Occasional team meetings to discuss data quality and next steps
Work is supervised by experienced researchers, and you’ll receive guidance to make sure your assessments meet TNO quality standards. This role suits HBO or WO students who are detail-oriented and comfortable with technical documents.
